Smart tourism marketing and managing your online reputation were among the four topics presented to over ninety (90) participants of the Centroamérica Innovation and Tourism Talk hosted by the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) at the Radisson Fort George Hotel & Marina on November 2, 2018.

The Central America Tourism Agency (CATA) with the support of the Pro Tempore Presidency under the responsibility of Belize, organized a regional training program that focused on strengthening Central America’s competitiveness through digital tourism marketing.  The first workshop was held in El Salvador on October 12 with the last of the series of workshops hosted by the BTIA in Belize City for the benefit of our local tourism stakeholders.  Dynamic presentations focusing on growth strategy, collaborative tourism, and market trends where facilitated by representatives of leading digital  tourism marketing companies such as Expedia, Trip Advisor, Google, and More Turismo.

“BTIA recognizes that in order to be competitive, Belize must keep up with the ever changing trends of marketing to reach its target audience and grow its tourism product,” commented BTIA Executive Director, John M. Burgos. “The Centroamérica Innovation and Tourism Talk introduced several marketing tips and tactics to our BTIA members and other stakeholders present, providing them with the knowledge of how to intelligently use their data to reach their audience via the digital platforms,” Burgos concluded.

Part two of the Centroamérica Innovation and Tourism Talk will be hosted in Belize in 2019, featuring representation of other leading digital marketing companies, who will be prepared to share their expert knowledge for the benefit and growth of Belize’s tourism product.  For information on future training activities hosted by the BTIA, please do reach out to us via email at info@btia.org or give us a call at +501-227-1144.
