Fire Safety & Extinguisher Training
The objective of the fire extinguisher training course is to enable the trainee to be able to effectively and safely extinguish a fire.The trainee will have a firm understand of the following:
1) How fires start.
2) They will be able to properly identify the classes of fires,
3) The types of extinguishers
4) Equipped with the skills to properly use the portable fire extinguisher.
Block I Fire tetrahedron:
Participants will be introduced to the elements of a fire.
Block II Classes of fire
Participants will learn of classes of fire (A, B, C, D and K)
Block III Extinguishers and Types of Agent:
Participants will be introduced on the different fire extinguishing agents used to extinguish fires.
Block IV Critical 2 minutes:
Participants will be thought on the critical two minutes, when a fire starts.
Block V Do’s and Don’ts:
Participants will be thought on what to do and not to do in the event of a fire.
Block VI Pass:
Participants will be thought on the acronym PASS when operating a fire extinguisher.
Block VII Fire Protection Plans:
Participants will be thought on fire plans (what to have in a plan)
Block VIII R.A.C.E.:
Participants will be introduced to RACE in the event of a fire (Rescue, Alarm, Contain, and Extinguish
Block IX Fire Extinguishment (Practical)
Participants will be thought how to extinguish a fire, using a contained Class B fire.
Participants will be able to put into practice all that was learned.
