The Belize Tourism Industry Association had representation from both its National and Placencia chapters at this year’s Toledo Cacao-Fest 2012. This unique and cultural event drew scores of locals and tourists alike; wanting to experience Toledo’s celebration of Cacao and its rich natural heritage.
he Wine and Chocolate Night held at the Coral House Inn on Friday May 18th,was a rainy yet elegant affair as vintners, wine merchants, chocolatiers and beer brewers alike, displayed their most exquisite spreads for all attendees. The wide array of red and white wines, chocolates and confectioneries, liquors and chocolate beers, were accentuated by the local artists playing colorful music and the grand fireworks display held at the closing of the event.
Our busiest and most fruitful day was Saturday, May 19th, as the Taste of Toledo Craft and Food Fair took place hosting various businesses and displays from the district and throughout Belize. The BTIA booth distributed promotional items and brochures of our various members as well as our “Belize Staycation” raffle, which highlights winning a 2 week, all-inclusive vacation for a family of 4 throughout Belize to fair goers. With that said, the BTIA would like to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to all the visitors who made our booth a success and all our members from across the country that we represented over the weekend.
Please note that on Saturday May 26th, the BTIA National will be promoting our “Belize Staycation” raffle and members at this year’s Hopkins Mango Festival where villagers will set up stalls at the beach. We invite everyone to come and enjoy a day of fun, refreshing beverages and delicious culinary dishes where mangoes are the main ingredient.
